Our riders are a little different:

The other day a young lad phoned me asking if we would like to sponsor him, he was pretty young, so we will forgive him for thinking that is all doing sports is about, - getting sponsored. However, it led me to explaining why our sponsored riders are sponsored by us, considering none of them are world champions.

Lets take our wakeboard rider Mark Tillett, as a perfect example. Mark is a good rider, who has competed and been seen on the podium at a few of the regular competitions, but that, for us, comes second.

Mark is the person who will be at the Club Lake first, he will fill the boat up, he will clean the showers, arrange the running order for “Riders”, he will give up his own time so that he can instruct someone else. He will drive the boat if someone is keen to ride, hot, cold, sunny or wet. He regularly gives up his Saturdays riding, to instruct deaf people how to wakeboard. He welcomes everyone to the club, chats with them and gives advice. He encourages people in a friendly way, then makes them push their own boundaries - pretty damn hard. He gives advice, teaches, helps, cleans and promotes the sport in such a way, that you can tell he lives for it and loves it. He doesn’t ask for anything in return, he didn’t come to us looking for sponsorship, we went to him.

This is what makes our riders, because this is what makes our sports happen.

And so, if you know someone who is to your sports, what Mark is to his, then drop us a mail and say why they deserve to be sponsored. The best ones might get taken on, or maybe just be given some free clothes to recognize what they do.

Sport isn’t only about sponsorship deals.
